A Bristow man and Stafford woman were arrested after a late-night firearm display on Sunday. On October 20th at approximately 9:35 p.m. Deputy C.T. Richardson responded to Lucas Lane for a shots fired call. The caller advised they heard numerous shots and observed muzzle flashes nearby. Considering this area is within the Garrisonville no-shoot zone, that called for concern. When Deputy Richardson arrived, he observed two individuals exiting from a path between Lucas Lane and Smith Lake Park. The two, displaying signs of intoxication, advised they heard no such gunshots and perhaps it was fireworks. Due to the nature of the call, Deputy Richardson would perform a pat-down search of both suspects. Both were found to be in possession of a handgun, despite both stating they did not have one. Both were detained as a result. During a search, the male was found to be in possession of spent cartridges and empty alcoholic containers would be found in his vehicle nearby. Both were charged with public intoxication, reckless handling of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and shooting in a no-shot zone. Both were held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
