A 25-year-old Woodbridge man received felony charges after stuffing his stockings with not coal, but controlled substances.

On October 15th at approximately 7:48 p.m. Sergeant E.E. West and Deputy S.A. Edwards responded to the Quality Inn, located at 28 Greenspring Drive, for a disturbance. The caller advised there was a disturbance between a male and female at the business.

Deputies made contact with both parties and discovered there was only a verbal altercation over another woman. While investigating, they noticed the male, identified as Gibril Kondeh, had signs of intoxication. Kondeh admitted to consuming a controlled substance earlier in the day and was detained for being intoxicated in public. Kondeh would continuously yell towards deputies to the point that the magistrate could not properly conduct a bond hearing. From there, he was taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail Intake.

While in intake, it was discovered Kondeh was wearing two pairs of socks. While the weather is getting colder, this was fishy to both deputies and jail staff. Inside one of the socks was several small baggies containing suspected controlled substances. Due to this socking news, a strip search was conducted. Additional suspected controlled substances were located in his underwear, including little blue pills commonly associated with fentanyl.

Due to the toe-tality of the situation, Kondeh was charged with public intoxication, two counts of possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, and two counts of felony by a prisoner. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail pending his ability to participate in a bond hearing.
