A 37-year-old Triangle man received his second DUI in four months after he was caught speeding Sunday night.

On September 29th at approximately 11:51 p.m. Deputy C.D. Quebedeaux was in the area of Richmond Highway and Port Aquia Drive when he observed a Chevrolet Sonic. Much like Sonic the Hedgehog, the vehicle was traveling fast. Almost 60 MPH to be exact. Deputy Quebedeaux quickly conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver.

The driver had signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes, and informed deputies he did not have a driver’s license. He further admitted to consuming a “big” Corona and fruity cocktail before getting behind the wheel. It was discovered this was not the driver’s first rodeo, for he had a DUI back in May of this year.

The driver was charged with driving under the influence second offense within five years, second offense driving without a license, and speeding. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Drive sober or get pulled over.
