Park Ridge Armed Robbery

Normally, we would put out a Happening Now alert when it comes to armed robberies. However, due to the hard work of our deputies yesterday they quickly located all three suspects and diminished any threats to the public before an alert could be made.

On August 19th at approximately 4:30 p.m. deputies responded to Park Ridge for a robbery. Deputy J.A. Albright was able to arrive quickly and made contact with the juvenile victim. The victim advised he was walking in the neighborhood when three masked suspects jumped from the woods. They would tackle the victim, brandish firearms, and steal the victim’s glasses and shoes. The three suspects would then flee as the victim reported the crime.

Despite the victim having his glasses taken, he provided excellent descriptions of all three suspects which would be crucial in the investigation. Additional deputies responded and established a perimeter. Sergeant R.K. Pinkard was one of those additional deputies and observed three suspects matching the description provided attempting to enter the Merit School, located at 1001 Parkway Boulevard. While he made contact with the three suspects, Deputy F.A. Martinez deployed his K-9 partner, Mija, at the scene of the robbery. She would track from there to the three suspects, further solidifying that they were in fact the suspects involved. Two BB guns were located in their possession along with the stolen shoes.

The three 17-year-old suspects received criminal complaints for robbery, brandishing a firearm, and displaying a firearm in commission of a felony. All three were detained at the Juvenile Detention Center without incident.

Amazing, and quick, results from every deputy involved in this high priority call.
