Deputies are investigating a shooting that took place late Sunday night.

On August 11th at approximately 10:01 p.m. Deputy J.J. Suh responded to Cummings Drive for a report of a robbery. The victim advised his phone was just stolen by an unknown male holding a firearm.

Deputy Suh made contact with the victim to discover what transpired. The victim advised he was on the phone while sitting in his vehicle. Suddenly, the victim’s driver side window was shot out. The suspect, brandishing a firearm, demanded the victim exit his vehicle and hand over his phone. The victim would comply and the suspect would flee the scene in a vehicle.

Shortly after, Deputy E.L. Shelton would respond to an automatic crash notification on Mine Road. It was discovered the notification came from the victim’s stolen phone. Deputy Shelton would locate the stolen phone laying in the street, now destroyed.
