A wanted 33-year-old Fredericksburg man attempted to get one last meal from the famous golden arches before heading behind iron bars.

On August 11th at approximately 8:30 p.m. Sergeant B.U. Demirci was patrolling at Sheetz, located at 10 Washington Square Plaza, when he observed an SUV with an expired inspection sticker. After a bit of research, Sergeant Demirci discovered the registered owner, Jose Medina Cervellon, not only had a revoked license, but was wanted out of Stafford County for a felony assault charge.

After visually confirming the driver was Cervellon, Sergeant Demirci attempted to conduct a traffic stop as the vehicle exited the parking lot. Instead of pulling over, Cervellon would continue traveling on Kings Highway. Deputy N.J. Amato would join in the slow rolling pursuit all the way to its’ end at McDonalds, located at 545 Ferry Road. Instead of getting a Big Mac, Cervellon got placed into handcuffs.

Cervellon would insist he did not see the bright red and blue lights behind him or loud sirens; however, it was discovered during the mini pursuit he would call a family member and inform them of his activities. Cervellon was charged with eluding police, driving after forfeiture of his license, and failure to fix a defect after inspection. He was also served on his outstanding felony charge. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond.
