The duo of moose and squirrel was created in the late 1950’s; however, one Stafford female made a new duo yesterday during an auto accident.

On May 7th at approximately 12:29 p.m. Deputy G.P. McCaulley responded to the area of Widewater Road and Arkendale Road for a single vehicle auto accident. A Dodge Avenger had gone off the road, down an embankment, and was partially in a ditch. Luckily, the driver was uninjured.

For obvious reasons, the vehicle needed to be towed. Prior to that, Deputy McCaulley conducted an inventory search of the vehicle. Inside the vehicle was a stuffed moose bag filled with suspected controlled substances. The driver was detained at that point and admitted the substances were fentanyl. The driver did not display any signs of being under the influence and the cause of the crash was determined to be speed related.

The driver, much like Rocky the Flying Squirrel, flew to Rappahannock Regional Jail where she was charged with possession of controlled substances. She was held on a $1,000 secured bond.
