A wanted 40-year-old Fredericksburg felon earned more felonies after an observant deputy noticed a violation late last night. On December 4th at approximately 11:50 p.m. Deputy D.S. Jett was at Wawa, located at 275 Butler Road, when he noticed a vehicle’s registration was inactive. Deputy Jett conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Johnny Martin Jr. While Martin admitted his license was suspended and he had two prior convictions for driving while suspended, he failed to mention he was wanted. He was wanted out of Stafford County for a probation violation with underlying charges of possession of controlled substances. With this information, Deputy Jett placed Martin under arrest. During a search incident to arrest, Deputy Jett located suspected controlled substances on Martin’s person. Additional suspected controlled substances would be located within the vehicle. Along with the suspected controlled substances, Deputy Jett located a pink stun gun, which was illegal for a convicted felon to possess. Martin was charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of controlled paraphernalia, weapon possession by a convicted felon, and driving while suspended. He was additionally served on his outstanding warrant. Martin was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Martin’s booking photo has not yet been updated from his previous arrest back in 2022. |
