A 40-year-old Stafford man was caught driving drunk with a high blood alcohol content, and children in the vehicle.

On November 29th at approximately 9:41 p.m. Sergeant M.L. Jacobeen was traveling on Garrisonville Road when he observed a vehicle traveling 52MPH in a 35 MPH zone. The traffic infractions would continue as the vehicle turned onto Greenspring Drive despite the traffic light being red. Sergeant Jacobeen conducted a traffic stop as Deputy E.T. Osborn responded to assist.

Within the vehicle was not only the driver, identified as Arnold De Leon, but two children. De Leon had clear signs of intoxication, admitted to consuming a few beers and shots prior to picking the juveniles up, and had an open box of Heineken next to him. It was also discovered his license was revoked due to a previous alcohol related incident.

De Leon was charged with driving under the influence second offense with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2 with children present, driving after forfeiture of his license, two counts of felony child neglect, speeding, and failure to obey a traffic light. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. The children were picked up by a responsible and sober family member.

Driver sober or get pulled over.
