Three juveniles got in trouble with both law enforcement, and their parents, after having a bit of a crime spree in England Run.

On November 1st at approximately 6:04 p.m. Deputy S.A. Hensley responded to Elkton Drive for a report of a larceny. The caller advised they witnessed three juveniles take a package from someone’s front porch prior to fleeing into an abandoned apartment. As Deputy Hensley arrived on scene, he was informed the juveniles were leaving in a vehicle. That vehicle was heading right for Deputy Hensley.

In what was surely a slow-motion movie scene worthy moment, the three suspects and Deputy Hensley maintained eye contact as they passed each other. As Deputy Hensley turned around, the suspect vehicle began to accelerate and attempted to evade law enforcement. Moments later, one of the passengers would come up with the idea to tuck and roll out of the moving vehicle and attempt to flee on foot. That was very short lived.

When Sergeant M.E. Gordon arrived, the vehicle was stopped and all three suspects were detained. All three suspects admitted to stealing the package, worth nearly $140, and unlawfully entering the apartment. The juvenile who attempted to flee was found in possession of a vape and marijuana. The juvenile driver admitted to intentionally trying to elude law enforcement. The other juvenile passenger was found in possession of marijuana. Sergeant Gordon made contact with the apartment manager, who advised there was damages to the apartment they unlawfully entered.

For those keeping track, all three had criminal complaints for unlawful entry, larceny, and destruction of property. The juvenile driver received a criminal complaint for obstruction of justice. The juvenile passenger received a criminal complaint for underage possession of marijuana. The juvenile who attempted to flee received criminal complaints for obstruction of justice, underage possession of tobacco, and underage possession of marijuana. Juvenile Intake was contacted, but elected not to detain the suspects, so they were released to their parents.
