UPDATE as of 10/5, 1:40 p.m.
Nathan Buress was located in Fredericksburg last night and has been served on his outstanding warrants. Thank you to everyone who submitted tips on his whereabouts.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating Nathan Burress, 18, of Georgia, who fled from deputies yesterday afternoon.

On October 3rd at approximately 4:32 p.m. deputies responded to the area of Richmond Highway and Corporate Drive for a welfare check. The caller advised a young adult male was seen hitch hiking with a younger female. Deputies were able to locate the pair and inquired of their wellbeing.

During their conversation, both Burress and the juvenile provided false identities. Quickly after, the two dropped all their belongings and bolted towards the woods. Due to safety concerns in the area, deputies did not engage in a foot pursuit. A perimeter was established with, unfortunately, no results.

Using the abandoned property left by the pair, deputies were able to learn their true identities. Burress was discovered to be wanted out of Georgia for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and the juvenile was discovered to be reported as a runaway.

In addition to the Georgia warrant, Burress is wanted for providing a false identification to law enforcement, obstruction of justice, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and underage possession of tobacco.

If you have any information or see Burress, contact the Sheriff’s Office at 540-658-4450.
