While there’s no Demogorgons in this report, in a scene reminiscent of Stranger Things we are reporting yet another DUI arrest. A 38-year-old Fredericksburg woman ended her journey upside down on Monday after driving drunk. On July 31st at approximately 4:05 a.m. Deputy S.A. Fulford responded to the area of Kings Highway and White Oak Road for a single vehicle accident. The caller advised a vehicle was upside down off the road. When Deputy Fulford arrived, he observed the vehicle nearly 40 feet off the roadway. Luckily, the driver was not injured as the vehicle went Running Up That Hill. The driver, who had extremely slurred speech and the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath, advised she thought she fell asleep while driving and that she only consumed “a little bit” of alcohol. That “little bit” changed when she admitted to consuming a Coors Light and two wine coolers. The driver’s trip to Hawkins would be delayed due to this news. While it didn’t take Eleven’s powers to get the vehicle removed, it did take some time. During that time, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence as well as failure to maintain control of a vehicle. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond. Remember to drive sober, whether you’re heading to play DnD with your friends, or to the Snowball Dance. |
