A wanted Woodbridge woman faces new charges after fleeing a traffic stop in North Stafford on Sunday night with an improperly restrained child in her car.

On July 30th at 10:51 p.m. Sergeant R.S. Dominguez conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Austin Ridge Drive and Shields Road for a driver failing to maintain the lane of travel. The driver attempted to provide a fictitious social security number, but was positively identified as Kiana Sanders, 28, of Woodbridge. Sanders may have been trying to conceal her identity since she was already wanted in another jurisdiction.

As Sergeant Dominguez was attempting to get additional information from Sanders, she put the car in gear and sped from the traffic stop. Sergeant Dominguez made the prudent decision not to pursue as there was an improperly restrained young child in the rear of the vehicle.

Warrants have been obtained on Sanders for felony eluding, felony child endangerment, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, obstruction, false identification, and failure to maintain the lane of travel. If you have any information on Sander’s location, please call our office at 540-658-4400. Sanders is a black female, 5’07” tall, 225 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was driving a silver Toyota Corolla with Virginia tag UDR-6470.
