This release is sure to make a splash! Yesterday at 4:18 p.m. first responders rushed to the area of Falmouth Beach on River Road after a tree fell onto swimmers in the Rappahannock River.

There were conflicting reports on the number of swimmers involved. Deputies believed there could be a person trapped in the water under the tree. As the drone flew over head and the Dive Team was alerted, first responders began a search through the leafy boughs. Fortunately, all the swimmers were able to self-extricate and were not seriously injured. The swimmers were checked by medics and refused treatment.
